A Coup of Owls publishes short form fiction whilst celebrating and supporting diversity.
Mainstream publishing can, but often does not, provide equal opportunities to those who have traditionally found barriers to publishing.
Our team strives to, in some small way, challenge the barriers to publishing and reading that can affect marginalised communities. We pay our authors whilst keeping our online issues free to read. By focusing on creators from marginalised and underrepresented communities, we hope to provide opportunities for publishing. By keeping our online issues free, we provide authors with a readership and the ability to reference our accessible stories in their portfolios.
Submissions are only open to creators from marginalised and underrepresented communities.

Max Turner
Publisher
Max is a fiction writer with over 5 years of experience in Developmental Editing and a decade in copywriting, project management, and social media and web management.
Rhiannon Wood
Editor in Chief
Rhi is a writer with MA’s in Creative Writing and Myth as well as a BA in Classical Studies. She is a former stage manager and is currently working solely on her novel.
Dr Sarah Boyd
Editor
Sarah is a freelance editor with a PhD in Publishing Studies. She also holds a Diploma in Creative Writing, an MA in English Literature, an MLitt in Shakespeare Studies, and an MLitt in Publishing Studies.
Leonie Natascha
Publishing Assistant
Leonie is a Berlin-born, UK-based fiction writer who works in local government. She uses her extraordinary admin expertise to support the team.
